How to make a payment with K Ring

How to make a payment with K Ring

You can use your K Ring for contactless payments up to £45* in the UK, anywhere that displays the contactless payment symbol below.

Most shops and supermarkets now prefer you to pay with contactless wherever possible, and K Ring’s a great way to do this while keeping your cards and phone safely in your pocket.

  1. Locate the “active area” of the card reader – typically this is indicated by the contactless payment symbol, which could be on the front, top or side of the reader.

  2. Close your hand into this shape to make the Transmission Ready gesture. The flat part of your fingers indicated will need to be closest to the card reader.

  3. Lower your hand over the card reader, so that your K Ring is directly over its active area – and no more than 4cm from its surface.

  4. Keep your hand in place until you see a green light and/or hear a beep. You should also see a “transaction successful” message on the screen. You won’t automatically be handed a receipt for a contactless payment, so if you need one, just ask the retailer.

*POS transactions with K Ring are subject to a maximum amount in line with local contactless transaction limits, therefore this figure may be lower in some countries. For transactions over a certain amount outside the UK, you may be asked to enter a PIN

Having difficulties?
  1. Have you activated your K Ring and linked it to an account (either the K Wearables Virtual Prepaid Mastercard, or directly to your ABN AMRO bank account)?
  2. Is your K Ring set to authorise transactions (it must be set to "ON" in Devices)?
  3. Are there sufficient funds in your account?
  4. Are you using your K Ring in the way outlined above?
